Swingarm and engine stabilisation kit HARLEY TOURING MODELS
And here’s why:
Harley touring models made from 2011 onwards are designed with a stud axle connecting the engine/gearbox and swing arm. This stud axle is fixed in the frame by rubber mounts. This reduces vibrations but has negative consequences at higher speeds:
- on load changes, engine vibrations can be transmitted to the frame via the swing arm, which leads to vibrations through the whole motorbike
- The higher the speed, the stronger the vibrations
- In addition, the fact that the front engine mount is not adjustable means that the engine-swing arm unit may not be correctly aligned, resulting in misalignment of the rear and front wheels
- Rubber-mounted swing arm inserts for right and left side
- Adjustable engine stabiliser

After installing the components, the distance from the centre of the upper fastening screw of the rear shock absorbers to the centre of the lower fastening screw of the shock absorbers must be measured on both sides and compared. If there is a difference between the right and left measurements, the vehicle has a tracking offset. This can then be adjusted using the engine stabiliser (see installation instructions).
Dear customer,
The Wilbers Stabilizer Kit has been developed to minimise or eliminate severe chassis instabilities at top speeds. If there is no significant chassis instability, we advise against installation as a precaution.
The reason for this is that installation results in stiffening of the connection between the engine/frame and swing arm. This can make distracting engine vibrations more noticeable.
Please therefore only install if problems actually occur.
For more than 30 years now, Benny Wilbers and his team have been producing suspension components for motorcycles. For thousands of bikers, chassis technology from Wilbers Products has increased the enjoyment of riding their machines. A wealth of racing experience and precision manufacturing of every component are the key to the success of products from Wilbers. Each shock absorber is assembled by hand and individually adapted to suit the rider. The result is greater steering precision, improved cornering stability, and a bigger safety margin at high speed and on difficult terrain.
