New Software Update: Cardo Mesh Boost

With Mesh Boost, Cardo is releasing a comprehensive software update for compatible second-generation PACKTALK devices. The update significantly expands the proven Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) system, making communication in large groups even more flexible and convenient.

Thanks to Mesh Boost, up to 31 riders and passengers can now be connected simultaneously in a DMC mesh network. The self-healing and self-adapting mesh network continues to ensure a stable connection, even when participants leave the group, join the group, or temporarily move out of range.

With Public Mesh, riders can spontaneously connect with other compatible Cardo users within range. This makes communication with large groups or new riders much easier and more straightforward.

The Remote Grouping feature allows you to set up a communication group before the ride even begins. Using the Cardo Connect app, you can create an invitation link and send it to participants. As soon as the riders are within radio range, the devices automatically connect to the shared DMC network.

The free Mesh Boost update is provided via the Cardo Connect app and is available for compatible second-generation PACKTALK devices such as PACKTALK PRO, PACKTALK EDGE, PACKTALK NEO, and, of course, PACKTALK Louis Edition (10075001). The new Mesh Boost features are available exclusively on supported devices. Older PACKTALK models remain compatible with the expanded mesh network but will not have access to the new features.

Louis’ Tip: To use Mesh Boost, the device must be synced with the latest version of the Cardo Connect app. The update is installed for free via an over-the-air update.

Seamless Bluetooth Pairing with Other Manufacturers
With a simple, wireless update, all current Cardo devices from the 2023 model year (Bluetooth 5.2) can now be updated to the latest software version. This update enables seamless, cross-brand Bluetooth connectivity with other Communication systems (e.g., Sena devices; requires Bluetooth 4.1). This means nothing stands in the way of an exciting motorcycle tour with communication devices from other manufacturers.

For this device, the communication system specialist has once again relied on the successful, slim, and antenna-free design of the Cardo *Packtalk Edge* with a matte black finish. The waterproof housing (IP67) houses Cardo’s groundbreaking communication technology featuring the 2nd-generation DMC intercom. You get a universal Bluetooth 5.2 intercom system that can communicate with any standard Bluetooth device and provides a modern Bluetooth interface for 2 to 15 riders. The rider-to-rider range is up to 1.6 km. A very practical feature is the automatic connection restoration should you ever ride through a “dead zone.”
